Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome
Lung Injury Score
Overview:The Lung Injury Score can be used to assess the adult patient for the extent of acute pulmonary damage. It can be used both at the onset of a lung disorder and during the course of the illness to monitor changing lung involvement.
Parameters:
(1) chest X-ray evaluated for alveolar consolidation
(2) ratio of the partial pressure of oxygen in arterial blood to the inspiratory fraction of oxygen
(3) PEEP level if ventilated
(4) respiratory compliance if known
Parameter Finding

Value

score =  suma valores parámetros/ Nº de parámetros
Interpretación:
máxima suma de parametros: 16
mínima suma de parametros: 0
maximo Nº de parametros: 4
mínimo Nº de parametros: 2
máximo score: 4
minimum score: 0
score 0: no lung injury
score 0.1 - 2.5: mild-to-moderate lung injury
score > 2.5: severe lung injury (ARDS)
